Método Elementar is a collectively shared experience developed by Castiel Vitorino Brasileiro veering between healing, spirituality and artistic work. The focus is: How can we learn and relearn to listen differently to our body, our memories and that which is not heard and missed in our everyday lives? Joint meditation, imagination and breathing exercises are the basis of this method. From these experiences, drawings, texts, images and other forms of expression emerge. At the heart of this is the idea that we are all engaged in a constant process of creation: creating relationships, memories, stories, and wounds, but also creating care routines, gardens, futures, and new ways of living together. For Castiel Vitorino Brasileiro, the creative act involves a moment of freedom, and Método Elementar is a collective practice to create a space for transformation, in which joint learning enters into a relationship with healing and imagination.
Castiel Vitorino Brasileiro (*1996 in Vitória, Brazil) is an artist, author and psychologist. She uses performative art, video art, photography, installation and spiritual practices to engage in artistic research on bodies, memories, healing and the complex relationships between human beings, nature and cosmos. Through her work, she aims to create space in which individual and collective traumata become evident, and new forms of coming together and caring can thrive to make transformation happen.
